Gerbil had children, one died. What I can do with the dead?

Hi all, I really hope you can help. On Saturday 31/01/2009, a my gerbils had 8 puppies, unexpectedly – I asked the boys and the pet store and gave me a female. I arrived home Friday to find Oscar (Now Lulu) very, very pregnant! I already had two males in the cage with her and when she had the first, one of the men tried to eat. I did not realize she was giving birth to this point and pulled out immediately. However, the puppy was bleeding and I think it was missing a rear leg. I suppose you tried to eat the puppy did so because he was not the father. Anyway, I left the brood in the nest of mother, but died and was last Monday, left him out of the nest and covered it with linen. What do with it? Should I leave or out? Thanks in advance. When exactly I can handle babies? Mom is very friendly so there should be no problem.

That is so sad = [Never trust the pet store. You must go online and find out how gerbils sex itself, which happens a lot in unfortuntley stores Pet. I thought it would get rid of the body. If it is unlikely that the mother eats the baby (it's not being mean, just keeping your baby safe by some other maintenance of germs possible …), but I just get the baby and get rid of it. You can handle the babies a day of his birth. Be sure to wash hands first so you do not leave an odor in infants. By putting them back into the nest, be sure to accept the new mom, and if it alarmed, leave the puppies for alond a couple of days. Good luck!
